Dusty
Mike W. of Manhattan sent us a charming note after adopting an irresistible puppy from our Adoption Center.
It's been a manic three weeks since I brought home Dusty. Even knowing how smart and sociable a Husky-shepherd mix was likely to be, I’ve been amazed to see how quickly she's learning: The first time she saw the stairs in my building she backed away in fear. By the end of the next day, she was scampering up them, and a day later had the hang of going down.
Dusty is almost housebroken, is energetic but mostly well-behaved on the leash, and has everyone in my building asking to walk her. Everyone stops us on the street—and they all get told that she is from the ASPCA.
My experience with the ASPCA, from the first visit to our free follow-up vet visit, has been extraordinarily positive, from the vibe of the shelter and the kindness and helpfulness of the staff to the clean, bright spaces the animals live in. Dusty and I are walking (and talking) advocates for the ASPCA.
