TAKE A TOUR OF THE ASPCA ADOPTION CENTER!
If you’re considering adding a four-legged member to the family, but don’t feel like being a tourist in your own city and wandering all over New York, you ought to get started with this video! Allison Cardona, Director of Volunteer Programs, takes viewers on a tour of the ASPCA’s ultra modern adoption facilities. Watch Brittney, an adorable pooch who comes to the center, get a makeover and meet her new pet mom.
As you stroll down Bark Avenue, you’ll see the neat glass-front puppy pens and the plush cat communities. We’ve eliminated ye olde cage system and our animals are livin’ it up in style until they can find forever homes.
In this video you’ll also learn more about the adoption process. Whether you’re looking for a new dog or cat, or just to say “Awwww,” click below to watch! But beware; if you didn’t want a pet before watching, you probably will after.

I wish i could adoption but i have so many now till it takes every thing i got to take care of them .But i do give to aspca every mo.but i know you all need alot of help .And maybe some day soon i can give more.I wish that our state was like you all that works with aspca .But we dont have a law here for our animals. But maybe some day we will.God bless you all.
Pardon me if I am wrong but, will all the outrage about dog fighting and the killing of dogs by Michael Vick and his friends, I had to bring this up. The ASPCA who have been so outspoken about this, have a policy of killing dogs after 45 day if they are not adopted. I know for a fact because I myself had to give up a dog in NY and I took it to an ASPCA site in Manhattan as was told this, I can't understand why that is ok but what Vick and his friend did was not. I don’t see anyone being disturbed about the killing you all do and has been doing for years.
I am disturbed by the uthanizing, but sometimes they have to because of dogs aggression or by behavior, they cant adopt a dog that can hurt people, so the best thing to do is uthanize them(only if their behavior cannot be fixed). But I dont like the dogs having to die when they arent adopted, Its very sad and its not thir fault, but what do you do if you keep them? i meen there are soo many dogs out there that come into shelters, they get packed easily and theres no room for any of them, I WISH they could keep all of them but they cant.
I would like to help donation wise please tell me where to send a money order thanks Stvnmink@yahoo.com
www.TheVelvetSnoot.com supports the ASPCA and links people to their purebreed rescue group for safe and legal adoption.
It's not OK to kill any animal. My rule of dumb is: don't kill what you can't make. Exceptions are ants, roaches and mosquitos. If we all were responsible cat & dog owners, the killings could stop or be drastically reduced. We would all have to commit to a pet-lifetime's responsibility of caring for our animal friends (somewhere between 10 to 18 years for a cat or dog) and have enough compassion, so that we would not even consider bringing them to a kill shelter. If we must give up our pet, go on a waiting list at a non-kill shelter. Altering/spaying before they mature is a must. Looking to adopt rather than to buy. Learning about specific breed behavior to see if there is a compatibility between pet and owner.I adopted a cat that was left at the kill shelter for leaving too much hair on the furniture and sitting on peoples' laps!
Well Mr./Ms. anonymous, the one who talks about the ASPCA policy of killing dogs after 45 days and the Michael Vick case, I have your answer. The dogs at the ASPCA are humanely euthanasied, unlike the dogs that belonged to Michael Vick. Michael Vick's dogs were tortured.
-TEEN CAT LADY
hello
I was just wondering about the dogs that were rescued from the michael vick case, where did they go and are they able for people to adopt them? I've seen this case way too many times and I want to help out.
