ASPCA Pet of the Week: Queen of Hearts
Want a loyal lass who loves to smooch? Sheba’s the one—an affectionate, seven-year-old pit bull with a charming underbite and an ever-wagging rear end. She’s sugary sweet, and like any self-respecting pooch, she’ll work hard for a cookie.“She loves to spoon!” says Lauren Bolduc, ASPCA Assistant Manager of Shelter Staff and Sheba’s foster mom. “At bedtime, she cuddles right up to you and sleeps a ten-hour night. She’s an incredible dog—probably the most loving dog I’ve ever met.”
Strictly monogamous, Sheba reserves her kisses for the human kind, and prefers to live in a single pet household, one free of other cats and dogs vying for your love. If you’re interested in adopting this playful girl, please call the ASPCA Animal Placement department at (212) 876-7700, ext. 4120. To see some other animals who are waiting for homes, please visit the ASPCA Adoption Center online.

She is a dog after my own heart, and what a beauty! Just from the picture you can tell she is a tender heart, so whoever gets her needs to treat her with tender loving care. I so wish I could adopt her; especially since we share the same name. It seems whoever is fortunate to get her will be truly lucky.
yeah
Sheba.... I love that name on a dog...
i wish there was a law that would let all who live in apartments have a cat or dog ...we live in a apartment ,we can not have pets ,i also work for the apartments,i keep a dog hidden from them .i saved her..i can lose my job if thay fine out and lose my home .this little dog we kept hidden for 2 years ,saved our lives ,from a drug deal went wrong in the apartment above us on the 3 rd floor we are in the middle,3 men jumped of the 3rd floor onto our apartment while we were in bed and one broke our slidding glass door lock and came into our home ..are littel hero went after him,he freaked out .and asked us to please call the cops .and i did ,but he ran out the front door before the police got there.....better then a gun.....i feel so sorry for the homeless pets
i was formaly sheba's parent i adopted her when she was barely 6 yrs. old i rescued her from the aspca( she and a beagle were on the brink of death ) and her joy despite all that went wrong in her life won me over. it broke my heart when i had to surrender sheba due to new housing rules... sheba is an absolutely amazing dog ang and is very young in spirt gaines all her weight back and is now lean and muscular and her corky attitude and her unconditional love and loyalty will melt anyones heart off. lucky for me everyone at the shelter felt that way and i know she is well taken care of there. hopefully i'll move soon and if she doesnt still have a deserving owner then she will have one with me :-)
