ASPCA Pet of the Week: Here’s Looking at You!

Like your boy kitties mellow and mushy? Bogey is a ten-year-old orange butterfly who lives for friendships with his four-legged brothers and sisters. In a human companion, he’s looking for someone with a healthy sense of boundaries and life on the sunny side.

“Bogey absolutely LOVES other animals, including dogs!” says Katie Watts, ASPCA Feline Behavior Counselor. “At first he was very nervous with people, but he really came out of his shell when he was put in a habitat with other cats.”

A true pet-trovert, our beloved Bogey thrives best in social situations and prefers to live in a multi-cat or dog household. If you’re interested in adding a mature mate to your nest, please call the ASPCA Animal Placement department at (212) 876-7700, ext. 4120. To see some other animals who are waiting for homes, please visit the ASPCA Adoption Center online.

What area does the ASPCA serve? Is it primarily New York City or does it include other areas? I hear the term SPCA used in other parts of the nation so using ASPCA is confusing.

I think that is so sweet how cats can be so friendly to other animals and people.

What a great cat! "10" sounds old, but many cats today are living to be 15, 20 and even older. And the fact that he's so social and loves other animals - dogs and cats alike - makes him an absolute gem.
