Amy Wuvs Tulip
We have a guest blogger! Amy Geduldig, ASPCA Media & Communications Manager, has been on a personal mission to find Tulip a home. You can always find Amy plugging the feisty kitty on her Facebook and MySpace pages, and she’ll talk about Tulip to anyone who’ll listen. So listen up!

Amy says:
On the fifth floor at the ASPCA Headquarters on 92nd Street, NYC, there lives a cat with nine lives—and nine personalities to match them. Her name is Tulip, and I’m one of the lucky few who gets to hang out with her during the week.
You may wonder why Tulip has the run of the fifth floor and doesn’t live downstairs with the ASPCA’s crew of cats. It’s simple. Tulip is a free spirit who simply doesn’t fit into dormitory-style living.
Over two years ago Tulip was rescued by our Humane Law Enforcement agents—a small, scraggly kitten—unloved and unwanted. As she’s grown, so has her personality. She can be sweet, she can be salty. She can be playful, she can be lazy. She can be affectionate, she can be aloof. She can be all of these things at once. That is what makes her one of my favorites.
Whoever adopts this beautiful girl is guaranteed to be entertained. You will have a best friend who likes to sit with you while you work, keeps you on your toes when you’re not paying attention, and understands the importance of personal space and quiet time.
Tulip isn’t for everyone. Young children will scare her. Friendly cats and dogs will annoy her. But, if you have a quiet, loving home (and a respectful dog or cat), then I hope one of you will consider opening your home to a little ragamuffin whose heart is as big (if not bigger) than her larger-than-life personality.
Everyone on the fifth floor will be tickled as pink as her nose.
*If you're interested in adopting Tulip, please call the ASPCA Animal Placement department at (212) 876-7700, ext. 4120. To see other animals who are waiting for homes, please visit the ASPCA Adoption Center online.
