ASPCA Pet of the Week: Executive Decisions

catWhen it comes to making decisions, Regina is a professional. Perhaps the young tabby prides herself on her Executive Cat status, as dubbed by our behaviorists. To give you some examples, she decides which humans get to hear her purr. And when she plays with her humans, she decides the precise moments when all petting and cooing will begin, cease and resume.

Regina would do well with an experienced cat adopter who can read feline body language. “She's more of the independent type, so she’d be great for someone who wants a fun, playful cat—but who won't be in their personal space all the time,” says Katie Watts, ASPCA Feline Behavior Counselor. The black-and-white beauty decided she’s not a fan of other cats, so she’s looking for a home she doesn't have to share.

If you are a decision maker like Regina and need to fill the number-one spot on your kitty agenda, please call the ASPCA Animal Placement department at (212) 876-7700, ext. 4120. To see other animals who are waiting for homes, please visit the ASPCA Adoption Center online.

aw regina is adoarable! can't believe a beautiful cat like herself wouldn't be in a nice, cozy, warm home already! I would adopt her on the spot if I didn't already have "enough" animals.
I live in an apartment complex where you can only have so many animals and if you do have an animal you need to add a certain amount on your bill. So, I wish regina, and all the other shelter animals out there luck in finding her new home!!

Poor Regina. She looks so sweet. Now who in their right mind wouldn't love a cute, adorable kitten? That person definatley wouldn't be normal!
