ASPCA Staffers at the Bolt Premiere!
So, now that Bolt is in theatres, let us know…did you like the movie as much as we did?
Back in July, we told you Miley Cyrus joined the ASPCA in launching Bolt Across America—a coast-to-coast fundraising event to promote the Disney film Bolt, which stars Cyrus. Bolt Across America centers around four Bolt fans who are rolling from city to city in a giant hamster ball attempting amazing feats and raising money for the ASPCA!

Four of our ASPCA staff members recently attended the Bolt premiere in Los Angeles on November 17. While they were busy supporting animals, admittedly some celebrity gazing was involved. The highlight was seeing the stars of the movie, of course—Miley Cyrus and John Travolta.
This humble blogger back in NYC hounded her cool co-workers for red-carpet details. “Life-size characters of Bolt, Mittens and Rhino greeted us at the entrance, said Elysia Howard, ASPCA VP of Marketing and Licensing. The Bolt superfans rolled down the red carpet in a giant hamster ball. Inside the theater, we got popcorn and 3D glasses to enjoy the movie.”
So what about the movie? According to Alison Zaccone, ASPCA Manager, Media & Communications, Bolt is a must-see for animal lovers. “The movie touches on how important the bond between people and their pets really is. Mittens, a stray cat abandoned by her family, tells Bolt to keep going on his search across the country for Penny, because ‘she's your person, and you're her dog.’ Definitely a teary moment.”

Finally, what’s a premiere without an after-party? Elysia tells us about the shindig following the flick: “We were treated to food and drink, actors on stilts, jugglers and a variety of pet-related activities (personalized dog tags, decorate your own cat bowl, get your picture in the hamster ball). It was a 'fully awesome' day!”
