The ASPCA would like to thank you for your previous submissions to the ASPCA Henry Bergh Children’s Book Award and for your continued support of the program over the years.
Due to a re-alignment of organizational priorities, as well as budget constraints, the ASPCA is discontinuing the Henry Bergh Children’s Book Awards program.
In the face of the economic downturn, the ASPCA has had to make some hard choices. However, we believe our focus on cruelty prevention and life-saving programs will enable us to maintain and enhance our ability to fight animal cruelty across the United States.
The ASPCA deeply appreciates the participation of authors, publishers, librarians and others who have taken part in the Henry Bergh Children’s Book Awards over the last nine years, and we wish everyone continued success in writing and publishing books essential in educating children to the wonders of animals.
We look forward to developing future programs that will help provide positive outcomes for at-risk animals around the country.
Thank you for your friendship, support and understanding.
