DOGS WHO ROCK!
February 2007
Have you ever seen a dog who can skateboard? How about one who can push a baby carriage or play the piano with his tongue? The dogs who competed in the ASPCA’s Charm School Talent Show did these tricks and more to kick off February as “I Love NYC Pets Month.” Thirteen rescued pups got to show off all of their tricks in front of judges, a live audience and TV news cameras. The winner of the contest was a brown pitbull mix named Shorty, who pushed a baby stroller with another dog inside. When the audience clapped, Shorty ran straight into the crowd, with her tail wagging, to get some serious cuddles and rubs! The tricks were a lot of fun, but the best part was that the dogs, who had come to the shelter hungry and lonely, were now healthy and ready to find forever homes.
