Miley Cyrus is Helping Out the ASPCA!
July 2008
What’s 15-year-old singer and actress Miley Cyrus doing hanging out with the ASPCA's Officer Annemarie Lucas? They’re in Central Park, New York City, kicking off Bolt Across America, a cross-country tour to celebrate the actress’s newest movie, Bolt, and to help out the ASPCA!
Miley is the voice of Penny in the new movie about a superstar dog named Bolt who accidentally gets shipped to New York City and has to find his way back to Hollywood. On his adventure home, he makes friends with a hamster named Rhino, who travels everywhere in his hamster ball (but of course!).
This is where the ASPCA comes in. Four fans of the movie have been chosen to travel to cities across the country, doing amazing stunts in hamster balls to raise money for the ASPCA! These “Bolters” are gonna be asked to roll through car washes, watch drive-in (or should that be roll-in?!) movies and do other crazy things inside their balls, all to help us keep saving homeless animals.
Miley says, “I have always been an animal lover and I am a huge believer in what the ASPCA does to help make a difference for animals in need.”
As for us, we can’t wait for the Bolters to get rolling!
