Dogs Who Rock: Furry Fashionistas

Not all dogs like to dress up—but for those who do, we salute you! We recently met hundreds of pooches who really know how to rock a good costume, and we’d like to introduce some of them to you here.

There’s Missy Boo, who’s pretty in a pink beret, and Nemo the beagle...err…lion? And if you’re reading this right before lunch and aren’t sure what you want to eat, check out Francis for some good ideas! These three pups were all winners (or should we say wieners?!) in the ASPCA Adopt-A-Shelter Dog Photo Contest, and are sure to make you laugh. Check out all the best-dressed doggies online anytime!

P.S. If these pictures have inspired you to photograph your own pet, here are a few tips on getting a great photo:
  1. Grab a handful of your pet’s fave treats. Holding one in your hand, lure her to a good location for taking photos.
  2. A good location is one that’s not too bright, not too dark and not too noisy. You don’t want your pet to get distracted!
  3. Set your pet up in the position you like and reward her with a treat. As soon as she’s eaten it up, snap the shot!
  4. Want to catch your pet in action? It helps to have an assistant who can call your pet’s name or wave her favorite toy above her head while you click away.
